Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine the egg, yeast, sugar, and milk. Mix well with a spatula. Add the bread flour (or wheat flour) and salt, then mix to form a dough. Cover the bowl with a lid and let the dough rest for 20 minutes.

  2. Incorporate 30 grams of unsalted butter into the dough by kneading it thoroughly. Cover the dough again with a lid and let it rise for 1 hour.

  3. Divide the dough into six equal portions. Shape each portion into a round ball, cover with plastic wrap (or polythene), and let them rest for 15 minutes.

  4. Using a rolling pin, flatten each ball into a triangular shape. Roll the dough pieces as desired and arrange them on a tray. Cover with plastic wrap and let them rise for 40 minutes.

  5. Make a small cut in the center of each roll using a blade or knife. Pipe the prepared cream cheese filling into the cut.

  6. Prepare the filling by mixing cream cheese, 30 grams of unsalted butter, and sugar until smooth. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag.

  7. Bake the filled rolls in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let them cool before serving.
