Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Add sugar and butter, mixing with your hands until crumbly. Incorporate the eggs and sour cream, mixing thoroughly to form a smooth dough.

  2. Divide the dough into two equal parts. Wrap one part in plastic wrap and let it rest for 10–15 minutes. Roll out the other part into a 30x20 cm rectangle and place it in a baking pan. Let it rest for 10–15 minutes.

  3. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, egg white, vanilla sugar, and sugar for 3–4 minutes until frothy. Add cottage cheese and corn starch, mixing until smooth. Spread the filling evenly over the rolled-out dough in the pan.

  4. Roll out the second part of the dough into a square and cut into long strips. Arrange the strips over the filling in a decorative lattice pattern. In a small bowl, mix egg yolk and milk. Brush this mixture over the dough strips. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 40–50 minutes, or until golden brown.

  5. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Sprinkle with sugar before serving.
