Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, salt, butter, sour cream, and egg. Mix the ingredients by hand until a uniform dough forms. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 15–20 minutes.

  2. In a blender, grind the walnuts and raisins together until well combined. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and set aside.

  3. Roll the rested dough into a square using a rolling pin. Cut out round shapes (approximately 10 cm in diameter) using a bowl or a round cutter. Dust the rounds with a little flour, stack them, and cover them with plastic wrap. Let them rest for another 10–15 minutes.

  4. Shape or design the dough rounds as desired. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 30–35 minutes. If desired, soak the baked pieces with sugar syrup before placing them in the mold.
