Directions

1. Prepare the Tofu

Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Crumble the tofu into the pan and let it cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it becomes golden and slightly crispy.

2. Add Olive Oil

Drizzle olive oil over the crumbled tofu. Continue cooking for another 5–7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the tofu becomes crispier.

3. Add Dry Ingredients

Sprinkle in the nutritional yeast, paprika, black pepper, and garlic powder. Stir well and cook for 1–2 minutes to let the spices bloom.

4. Add Wet Ingredients

Reduce the heat to medium. Add ketchup, mustard, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and miso paste (if using). Mix thoroughly to ensure all tofu is evenly coated. If the mixture looks too dry, add a splash of water. Let simmer for 3–4 minutes.

5. Taste and Adjust

Taste the tofu and adjust the seasoning as needed. Add more soy sauce for saltiness, extra ketchup for sweetness, or vinegar for tanginess.

6. Serve

Serve hot. This vegan ground tofu is perfect as a filling for tacos, burritos, rice bowls, or sandwiches.
