Difficulty Easy

Soft Pan Fried Bread Rolls are irresistibly fluffy, tender bread rolls with a beautifully golden, slightly crispy crust. These bread rolls are made by pan-frying the dough over low heat, creating a unique texture combination of soft, pillowy interiors and a perfectly toasted surface. Unlike traditional baked bread, these rolls are cooked on the stovetop, making them a versatile, quick option that doesn't require an oven. The slow pan-frying method locks in the bread’s moisture, resulting in a melt-in-your-mouth softness with a delicate golden-brown finish. Ideal for breakfast, snacks, or light meals, these bread rolls can be enjoyed plain, spread with butter, or paired with sweet or savory fillings. Perfect for those seeking a quick and delicious homemade bread recipe with minimal effort but maximum flavor!

Directions

1. Step

In a large bowl, combine 190 ml milk, 25 g sugar, and 3 g yeast. Mix well with a spatula. Add 300 g bread flour and 3 g salt, then mix until a dough forms. Cover the bowl with a lid and let the dough rest for 20 minutes.

2. Step

After resting, add 30 g unsalted butter to the dough and knead until smooth and elastic. Cover again with a lid and let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

3. Step

Once the dough has risen, divide it into 8 equal parts. Shape each piece into a smooth round ball. Place the dough balls on a baking tray, cover with plastic wrap or a damp cloth, and let them rise for 40 minutes.

4. Step

Preheat your oven to 160°C. Before baking, place the tray in the oven and cover it with a lid or foil to trap the steam.

5. Step

Bake the rolls at 160°C for 15 minutes, or until they turn a golden brown. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm.
