Directions

1. Step

Finely chop the garlic and slice the button mushrooms. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Flatten the thick parts slightly with a mallet or the back of a knife. Make light cuts on the surface of the chicken breasts and season them with salt and pepper.

2. Step

Heat a pan on medium-low heat and add the unsalted butter and olive oil. Place the chicken breasts in the pan and cook for 2 minutes on one side. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes. Reduce the heat, cover the pan, and cook for 2 more minutes. Flip the chicken, cover, and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside.

3. Step

Using the same pan, add the chopped garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add the sliced mushrooms and spicy pepperoncino (if using). Cook until the mushrooms soften. Pour in the milk, fresh cream (or cheese), white wine, and parmesan cheese. Season with salt. Stir well. Add the broccoli florets to the sauce and let them cook for 2-3 minutes. Return the cooked chicken breasts to the pan and let them simmer in the sauce for a few minutes, ensuring they are well coated and heated through.
